Terms of Use

By using CardVerse you agree to the terms below. We’ve tried to keep them short and human.

Personal use

Every verse, image, and page on CardVerse is free to read and free to use for personal greeting-card purposes. That includes printing the verses on cards you make at home, copying them into card-design tools, sharing them with family, and giving them to anyone you’d give a card to. You don’t need to credit us for personal use.

Commercial use

For commercial use — printing verses on cards you sell, republishing them on a public website, including them in a paid product or app, syndicating them to a publication — please write to us first. We’re generally happy to license content for commercial use, but we’d like to know who’s using it and how. Wholesale republication of the directory without permission is not permitted.

Attribution

If you republish a CardVerse verse online, please link back to the relevant occasion page. The underlying occasion data (names, dates, country associations) comes from Wikidata under the CC0 public domain dedication and may be re-used freely under that licence.

No warranty

CardVerse is provided as-is. We do our best to make sure dates are accurate and occasions are correctly described, but we can’t guarantee the directory is free of errors. If you’re relying on a date for an important reason — mailing a card to arrive on a specific day, planning a religious observance, scheduling around a public holiday — please double-check against an authoritative source.

Acceptable use

You may not scrape the site at a rate that interferes with other readers, attempt to compromise our servers, or use CardVerse content in ways that infringe on third-party rights (for example, by attributing a verse to someone who didn’t write it).

Changes

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be noted here with a new “last updated” date.
